Oskar Kokoschka Austrian, 1886-1980

Oskar Kokoschka was an Austrian artist, poet, playwright, and teacher best known for his intense expressionistic portraits and landscapes, as well as his theories on vision that influenced the Viennese Expressionist movement.  In 1908, Kokoschka accepted Gustav Klimt (1862–1918) and Josef Hoffmann’s (1870–1956) invitation to design the poster for the Kunstschau held that year.
