The 12th exhibition of the Vienna Secession took place from December 1901 to January 1902, featuring a hall dedicated to Russian and Scandinavian artists with interior decorations by Josef Hoffmann. This event was part of the Secession's exhibition series, whose aim was to challenge the conservative academic art scene by bringing the European avant-garde to Vienna.
