Jiří Laštovička Czech, b. 1949

Jiří Laštovička is a master of the silent, enduring white—a sculptor who coaxes poetry from the rigid soul of porcelain. Born in the heart of Prague in 1949, his life has been a dedicated pilgrimage to the altar of form and fire.  He graduated in 1974 from the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague under Professor Otto Eckert. His most famous creation, the "President" set, sits in the halls of Prague Castle as a testament to his ability to marry regal dignity with modern fluidity.
